• "Mrs. Gruwell's English Composition class was one of the most enjoyable of my academic career [...] Her course was perhaps the first that I have taken of its kind in the sense that I actually felt I had further developed myself as a writer and an individual instead of just 'faking it to make it.' She is a fair grader, neither destroying her students nor giving them free A's, and she is lenient with the structure of the assignments so as to allow students in her class to explore subjects that they are genuinely interested in to write about."
